Next Shipment

I’m ordering the next round of books on Monday! and this lot is twice the size as the last! I’m still not in a single book shop yet, that might change real soon.

Dedication

I’m amazed at the support that I’ve received thus far! I’ve shipped the entire first lot, and I’m expecting the second lot in three weeks! The Kindle e-book version is doing well too! Thank you all so much!

I’ve been asked by everyone I’ve spoken to about the inspiration for the book and how I started writing it. I’ll address how I started writing it in a later post, but I think the dedication explains very well where the inspiration sourced for me. The way it is worded and to whom the comment is directed is the most important element:

“-For the 60,000 women who are stoned to death every
year by their family and friends, and for all the people of
the world who choose to ignore the cause.-”

My only power to do anything about this horrible reality comes after the comma and before the period, and incidentally you are just as empowered as I am in attacking the problem from that same humble point.

Ignorance is hell.

Thank you all so very much for the support! And for those of you who have finished and are wanting to know about the second and third books, all I can say is you’ll have to wait! The story continues, but not in the way that you might think. Each of the following books is its own story, they all stand alone, and they all make a related but very different statement.

I’m so encouraged because every one who has finished the book and contacted me has understood exactly what I was trying to say, and has thanked me for having said it.

The readers who I’ve talked to who have stalled out in it always stall out in the same spot for the same reason, it’s the end of chapter two or the beginning of chapter three. I do admit that is a very powerful part of the book, and it is “uncomfortable.”  It is the purpose of the story, and purpose is the fire that makes us all tick isn’t it? Have you ever met someone without a purpose? Do you think that person would still be purposeless if he had gone through the same things as the characters?

E-mail Questions

To the last rash of e-mails, all I can say is it will all make sense my friends in chapter 12! And you’ll still have two more chapters!

Also, I have to say every e-mail, text, Facebook, or Orkut message that I receive good or bad makes my day! (though I think that the bad ones more fit into the “worry” category)  And I’m sorry that I’m being evasive in my responses, but it’s all about chapter 12

I promise that if you still have the question/comment/worry when you are done, that I’ll go into length in an e-mail, or maybe I’ll do a “spoiler alert” blog in a month or so to address the topics.

At the risk of spoiling anything, and going against my strong claim that the book is pure fiction; I have been asked several times about Alexander and where I got the idea for him… actually, I met that guy. Of course I’ve changed heaps about him, but for the most part, including what he went through, Alexander is a real dude… Creepy and troubling as that may be. I tried to capture what it was about the real Alexander that frightened me, and also intrigued me. I’ll leave it at that for now, but I just wanted those who e-mailed me to know that ALexander is among you.
